Personal History

I’ve been in the IT sector for the vast majority of my working life and have dealt mostly with online technologies for those 20+ years. Internet and what it has the capacity to do is totally incredible.

What's Going On Now?

For the past 2 or 3 years, I’ve helped many people and companies come to realise the power that online marketing and surrounding strategies can bring to their lives and business revenues. As Paul Dunn from ResultsNet Australia once described me as his ‘Internet Guru’. Paul is the Australian franchise controller of XL Foundation, a global entrepreneur group dedicated to a unique vision of Social Contribution. I work closely with an ever growing base of XL Foundation Life Members, in and around robust websites and, more importantly, online marketing and research for revenue escalation.

Following on from a Marketing Guru consultant is the often forgotten world of customer conversion. An area I specialise in is website critique with the main focus on higher and smoother customer conversions for the thrust of your site. It’s what we’re all online for, isn’t it? More customers doing what it is we want them to do.

Drupal Is Where It's At

The majority of scalable websites my team is involved in operates on the Drupal platform. I have other site areas on Drupal so please do browse those for further detail. Drupal is essentially the savior for Open Source CMS systems as it has a very high focus on online marketing … certainly everything I’ve ever wanted and needed in a platform, Drupal has it and more and getting better all the time. It’s an exceptional platform.

IT Painkillers is a vehicle for focus of skills primarily around increasing a business’ revenues utilising Internet Technologies and the best people with those skills. My network of associates continues to grow where I can pass along those skills in a rewarding manner to my customers. Prior To Life At IT Painkillers

Prior to the above, I was with Webcentral Australia for around 9 years. Webcentral is the largest webhosting company in Australia. My role there was the lofty role of  Vice President of Asia/Pacific Customer Technical Support - essentially looking after all the end user customer issues arising out of webhosting. Areas I was involved in are:
    •    Mass customer site migrations from one host platform over to Webcentral
    •    Online marketing and SEO business areas
    •    Research and Development of new and innovative products
    •    Market expansion
    •    Strong customer satisfaction (delight levels) focus
    •    AU$3.1 million budget
    •    Oversight on company security, accuracy and risk mitigation strategies
    •    Customer acquisition projects
    •    Cost reduction on core areas of expenditure

And lastly (well, before this actually) I ran my own SME consultancy business focused on hardware and software support. This 7 year stint was at the very advent of the current Internet explosion which is where I headed. Oh those were the days!
